Storing and handling lyophilised peptides
A lyophilised peptide is a freeze-dried powder or cake. Handled and stored as below it is stable to its retest date; these are storage and handling facts, taken from the release specification, not use instructions.
Storage
- Store lyophilised powder at minus 20 degrees Celsius, protected from light and moisture.
- Solutions, where a line ships as one, hold at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and are not frozen.
- Short transit at ambient is tolerated: the parcel does not need to travel cold to arrive sound.
Shelf life and retest
Shelf life is 24 months from manufacture at minus 20 degrees Celsius, and every certificate carries a retest date. The retest date, not a generic table, is what stands for a given batch.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with bacteriostatic or sterile water, and do not shake. Once reconstituted, hold at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. Bacteriostatic water is on the list as an ancillary line. Sold 10 boxes at a time: bacteriostatic water ships in its own parcel.
On arrival
Check the parcel against the packing list on arrival and raise any shortage or damage within 5 business days, per shipping and freight. To confirm a batch, use the COA lookup.
